EXPLANATIONThis is a list of the 2809 currently known descendants, spouses and partners of descendants and a few other relatives of Dennis McEvoy (1h) and Anne Jane Carson (1w) who arrived separately in Australia in 1840 and married in 1843. I am aiming to get as many descendants as possible recorded on the family web pages. There are some overlaps because of marriages between distant cousins. Women are identified by their maiden names, as is usual in genealogical studies. I am including spouses (h or w) and partners (p) if couples have children together or if I am fairly sure they have remained together, as if married. Second or third spouses are allocated x2 or x3. Everybody has a 1 at the start of their ID number representing Dennis and Ann Jane McEvoy. Each subsequent generation gets a number depending on their birth position in the family. We are up to the 7th generation now. The information on this page and the connected family pages has been collated by John Kilmartin, Bob Munro, Richard Quinn and me, from research and information gathered and supplied by various family members. There are bound to be mistakes and omissions, for which I apologise. I am happy to correct mistakes or remove people who don't want their names mentioned. My great wish is to find a photo and the Irish details of Dennis McEvoy, our founding father, and to build a small memorial to him, since his resting place in Gawler, SA, is unknown and unmarked. Anne Jane (Carson) McEvoy is buried as Anne Jane Plunkett at West Tce Cemetery, Adelaide. In loving memory of my parents, Diana (Kermode) and Norman McEvoy, pictured above.
